Important Point for Common Entrance Test - MBA

MANY students tend to fumble when they’re answering the Reading Comprehension (RC) questions in Common Entrance Test. This can be attributed to the fact that many students do not enjoy reading. Often the topics covered in the CAT are dry and do not have any great interest to the student. Also, since a close reading of the passage is required, students fear that they are wasting too much time and end up making mistakes.

However, what they don’t realize is that RC can also be used to their advantage. In Common Entrance Test, RC is like taking an open book exam. The answers are all in front of them; all they have to do is read and find them. With the right technique, Reading Comprehension can become a very scoring area. The trick is to understand the various question types that come under the huge protection of RC. Not recognizing the question type and adopting a wrong approach can result in not marking the correct option as well as in wasting time. Hence, it becomes imperative that one properly recognizes what the question really means.

some Important point:
  • What is the main idea/central idea of this passage?
  •  Which of the following is the thematic highlight of the passage?
  • What is the primary purpose of author?
  •  The author of the passage is primarily concerned with which of the following? etc.
